The Strength I Needed
Since I told you that I wouldn't post for a few days I figured that I had actually better NOT post for a few days. I'm really happy though that I did have to stuff to post every night. It made me feel good that even though I didn't go home for break that I was still able to have a lot of fun with Pie and others here, and what fun we did have. Still though I missed home a lot. I haven't seen anyone from back in MN since winter break, and I really missed all of them. Not enough to have it really affect me, but enough that I was thinking about it tonight when I got a phone call from a friend back home. The conversation went as such.
Jesse(my best friend from back home): Hey dude, what are you up to right now?
Me: Sitting in my room, why?
Jesse: Oh I just thought you could use some company.
Me (frantically looking around): Yeah ok, are you gonna drive down here to see me?
Jesse: I'm already here dude.
Me: What!?!?!
At this point I'm looking at my door wondering if he is on the other side, but I find out that he and some other friends from back home drove through St. Louis on their way to Florida. It was so surprising and out of the blue that I nearly jumped through the roof of my dorm room. So he and some other friends from my high schools swim stopped by and I walked them around my dorm and we talked for a little bit. They had to get back on the road but just seeing them for like 20 minutes really gave me the strength I needed to get through these last 8 weeks of school. Just to get a taste of back home gives me the drive to finish out these last 8 hectic weeks. And oh boy will they be hectic. 5 shows, including fucking Radiohead! A 30 second commercial to produce, a 15 page term paper to write, 3D and photography projects, and no to mention all the RA stuff. But I have come this far and I'm going the rest of the way. Which starts with me signing off this computer and going to bed, haha. I was originally going to show you a bunch of random pictures and things from the past week, but this feels better to be writing about. Still I will show you some fun stuff tomorrow, including some 3D renders! OOOO!
Also just for the record I never had any doubts that I would finish this semester, but tonight's little pick me up made me realize it, and that's what counts. I also watched almost all of Radiohead's concert from a 2003 festival in Europe, that helped as well.
Oh why not a Radiohead video to close off the night.
